Alison Davis' Center Stage Dancers kicked off the
28th Annual World Catfish Festival with the first entertainment
of the day being performed by her students.


Other dancers also entertained including Lacy Tollison School
of Dance
and the Delta All Stars, led by Cheryl McPherson
Entertainment by the KrackerJacks & The Bluz Boys is being enjoyed by many.

Second Alternate, Royann Long; First Alternate,
Emily Keith; Miss Catfish 2003, Crystal Coghlan; Miss Catfish 2002, Rebecca
Moulder
and Miss Congeniality Leslie Rocconi.
Floyd Wittaker won the catfish eating contest. Contestants were
given 10 minutes
to eat 3 pounds of Humphreys County Farm-raised fried catfish. Floyd ate 2 1/2
pounds
defeating defending champion, James Williams from Houston, TX.
Colgate Country Showdown

The Colgate Country Showdown, a country music talent contest,
had 16 entrants this year.
This was the second year for this competition in Belzoni, and competition it
was.
All 16 did an outstanding job, including 3 Belzoni contestants, Carrie Sanders,
Teresa Clay & Jay Toney.
The winner this year was Sarah Featherstone, of Brandon, MS.
